CEVA expands its partnership with Renault

JOC Staff |
Madrid, Spain, 1 July 2010 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has signed a three year agreement with Renault, a global player in the automotive sector, renewing an existing contract and expanding the services CEVA provides.

Under the new contract, CEVA will continue to manage the operations for Renault in their factories located in Valladolid and Palencia. Moreover, the logistics operator will also take charge of the management of inbound and outbound maritime flows of spare parts and car components – engines, gear boxes and bodywork - from Renault’s factories in Valladolid and Seville to final customers in South America, Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The efficiency of the railway between Valencia Port and Renault’s factory in Valladolid allowed CEVA to design an excellent multimodal solution, replacing the sole use of road transport, thus optimizing the customer’s costs and service time. The logistics company will ensure the constant rotation of empty container stock according to weekly needs. All containers arriving at Renault’s factory in Valladolid, which will become a true cargo terminal, will be classified according to the shipping company transporting them and then sent back to Valencia.

Eduardo Herrera, Logistics Director at Renault, said: “The collaboration with CEVA has been increased thanks to the customized logistics solutions offered, that enable us to improve the efficiency of our supply chain; the new partnership will allow our teams to cooperate closely in order to minimize costs and increase the punctuality of our deliveries. CEVA has a dedicated person in our factory in Valladolid in order to improve and speed up the flow of information; any setback will be quickly solved thanks to its high quality logistics solutions.”

José Ramón Arbeloa, Spain’s Freight Management Director for CEVA said: “The extension of the partnership is proof of our excellence and professionalism. Thanks to our international expertise, we can satisfy the automotive industry’s needs offering unparalleled, integrated logistics services. The innovative solution we designed for Renault will enhance our customer’s supply chain, increasing the efficiency of ocean flows and demonstrates we are a complete and strategic partner, able to identify new opportunities for the improvement of our customer’s logistics activities.”
