ATA Endorses Vigillo CSA 2010 Scorecard

Arlington, Va. – The American Trucking Associations (ATA) announced today its endorsement of Vigillo LLC’s Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) 2010 Scorecard as an effective program to help large and small trucking companies manage their responsibilities under the current CSA 2010 regulations. The CSA 2010 Scorecard offered by Vigillo, a provider of a web-based risk management platform and management reports to the trucking industry, draws from the same carrier and driver data sources as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

The Scorecard applies the same methodologies currently used by FMCSA to calculate carriers’ CSA 2010 Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASIC) Measures and Percentile in nine pilot states. It also allows carriers an advanced look at their drivers’ safety record and the impact of those records on the carriers’ Fitness Score under CSA 2010. The Vigillo CSA 2010 Scorecard is considered its Gold Scorecard Subscription level and acts as both a Carrier Scorecard and a Driver Scorecard. The CSA 2010 initiative will replace the FMCSA’s existing SafeStat program in Summer 2010.

“Although CSA 2010 may change some of the weights assigned to certain violations, FMCSA has been clear on what it believes are contributing factors to crashes and what crash indicators deserve the most weight in scoring a carrier’s safety fitness,” said Dave Osiecki, ATA Senior Vice President of Policy and Regulatory Affairs. “The Vigillo CSA 2010 Scorecard system helps carriers take a critical look at their and their drivers’ records and determine in advance of the CSA 2010 roll-out what they will need to focus their resources on to ensure safety compliance and avoid an FMCSA intervention.”

“Since introducing the CSA 2010 Scorecard last October we’ve been growing very rapidly,” said Steven G. Bryan, CEO of Vigillo. “In use by well over 300 fleets of mostly 100 drivers or more, our growth is from word of mouth referrals by fleets that use our Scorecard and see its value. We are pleased that ATA sees the value as well and is now spreading the word to their constituents.”
