Hong Kong International Airport’s Cargo Volume Rises

Cargo throughput at Hong Kong International Airport reached 341,000 metric tons in July, up 1.9 percent year-over-year.

The gain was mainly driven by a 5 percent increase in exports in July, compared to July 2012, according to HKIA. During the month, cargo throughput to and from North America outperformed other key regions.

In the first seven months of 2013, cargo volume rose 2.0 percent to 2.3 million metric tons, versus the same period last year. On a rolling 12-month basis, HKIA handled 4.1 million metric tons of cargo, representing a 3.5 percent year-over-year increase.
