Emirates signs for Boeing 777s

Dubai-based airline Emirates said it ordered four Boeing 777 jets and took options on nine more at the Farnborough air show on Monday, in a deal worth around $3 billion at list prices.

Emirates said last year it planned to lease 26 of the jumbo jets.

Although airline officials did not comment specifically on cargo operations involving the new planes, the carrier has implemented a multi-million dollar plan to expand its air freight operations around the world.
