Grupo Aeroméxico’s Cargo Revenue Falls 10.2 Percent

Grupo Aeroméxico reported its cargo revenue in the second quarter of 2013 was $510 million pesos (about US$40.3 million), dropping 10.2 percent from $44.9 million in the second quarter of 2012.

The revenue decline was driven by weak economic activity and the impact of exchange rate appreciation, Grupo Aeroméxico said in a written statement. The air cargo market in Mexico experienced a 4.7 percent decrease in the number of tons carried in the first five months of 2013 compared with the same period in 2012, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the airline said.
