Box Ship Fleet Growth Hits 10-Year Low The world container ship fleet grew at the slowest rate in 10 years in 2009 as beleaguered carriers laid up ships, scrapped old vessels and deferred delivery of new ones at a record clip. The cellular containership fleet is expected to grow only 6.1
