Patterson CEO heads company focused on 'total-package approach' to business

C.H. Robinson Worldwide is adding experience in value-added distribution services with its appointment of Scott P. Anderson, president and CEO of the Patterson Cos., to the third-party logistics operator’s board.

Patterson, a publicly traded business based in St. Paul, Minn., is the parent company of various medical supply distribution operations, including dental, veterinary and rehabilitation equipment. The distribution model, said, fits with Robinson’s combination of logistics and distribution services.

“Scott leads an organization with a business model that has comparable opportunities and challenges to Robinson’s,” John P. Wiehoff, chairman and CEO of Minneapolis-based Robinson said in a statement. “In addition, Scott brings substantial sales and marketing expertise.”

Anderson, 45, may bring Robinson guidance as the company spreading its services into more supply chain management operations beyond transportation management. Patterson says it is committed to “a total-package approach to doing business.”
