GUYMON, Okla., Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TruStar Energy, a leading developer of compressed natural gas [CNG] fueling infrastructure throughout the US, is excited to celebrate the grand opening of High Plains Bioenergy's fast-fill CNG station which is located across the road from their Guymon, Oklahoma processing facility.

"High Plains Bioenergy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seaboard Foods – a division of Seaboard Corporation, is a renewable energy company focused on producing, as well as using high-quality, alternative fuels for the Seaboard Foods integrated food system," said Seaboard Foods President and CEO, Terry Holton.

This station is HPB's first public station and offers 24/7 access. The addition of the HPB CNG fueling station ensures the availability of CNG to Seaboard Foods' fleet, but also provides a fuel source for the growing number of CNG vehicles in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

"This is really a show piece for both TruStar Energy and High Plains Bioenergy," said TruStar Energy Sales Vice President, Scott Edelbach. "We're proud to be associated with High Plains Bioenergy and Seaboard Foods, who have been pioneers regarding alternative fuel for quite some time."

Seaboard Foods and its integrated food system produce premium pork products by controlling every step of the way, from before the farm to beyond the fork. The expansion of their CNG fleet and launch of their public CNG filling station aligns closely with their commitment to be environmentally responsible in the communities in which they work.

Since the start of their transition, Seaboard Foods has logged more than 7 million miles with CNG fuel and is on track to displace more than 1 million gallons of diesel fuel this year alone. Their fleet includes more than 160 CNG fueled vehicles, which includes light duty pickups, semis hauling feed and livestock and over-the-road trucks hauling pork products from coast to coast.

"CNG benefits the Seaboard Foods integrated food system and helps achieve the company's sustainability goals, providing numerous long-term benefits that are changing the way the trucking industry fuels equipment," said Holton.

Seaboard Foods continues to look for additional opportunities to enhance their CNG operations and enthusiastically welcomes the opportunity to lend industry expertise to its partners and others interested in building CNG fleets.

The High Plains Bioenergy station represents the first TruStar Energy station to be built in Oklahoma.
