Haney Truck Line Names Logistics Veteran CEO

The Journal of Commerce Online - News Story
Jack Gross joins expanding Northwestern regional truckload carrier

Veteran trucking executive Jack Gross is the new CEO of Haney Truck Line, a regional truckload and specialized carrier in the Pacific Northwest.

Gross joins the Yakima, Wash., carrier from Schneider Logistics, where he was a senior vice president and general manager. Before Schneider, Gross worked for several companies, including Ryder and Roadway, over a 30-year career.

“Bringing Jack on board is the next step in a strategic plan for growth we initiated in 2007,” said Haney President Mike Richardson.

Haney, founded in 1924, has been expanding with the help of private equity firm Evergreen Pacific Partners in Seattle, which manages funds worth $700 million. The carrier acquired Puget Sound Truck Lines and Nickel Plate Express in 2009. The acquisitions broadened Haney’s service portfolio, adding intermodal options.

Haney operates in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming as well as British Columbia and Alberta.
