Ryder Signs with Pallet Maker

Ryder System inked a multi-year contract with plastic pallet maker Intelligent Global Pooling Systems to distribute and redeploy up to 175 million pallets annually to IGPS’s North American customers.

Ryder will also manage RFID tracking of the pallets, which allow shippers and receivers to track shipments in real time.

Plastic pallets manufactured by IGPS, which was formed in 2006, weigh 30 percent less than wood pallets, according to IGPS, which saves on trucking transport costs.
