Norwood facility lets same-day specialist strengthen regional network

Same-day and next-day delivery specialist Eastern Connection is expanding in its home state of Massachusetts, opening a facility in Norwood, outside Boston.

The Woburn-based company said the Norwood facility will help it redirect specific routes through southeastern Massachusetts, increasing the capacity of its operations in the state and helping to build density.

Norwood is the 20th facility for the carrier, which delivers parcels, documents and expedited freight from Maine to Virginia and as far west as Buffalo, N.Y.

Eastern Connection also relocated its Philadelphia operations to a larger warehouse, where it will sublease space to some customers to help manage their supply chains.

A partner carrier, US Cargo, will sublease space at the Philadelphia warehouse.
