J.B. Hunt's Profit Jumped Nearly 21 Percent in 2012

Arkansas-based trucking and transportation company J.B. Hunt Transport Services reported its profit in the fourth quarter of 2012 was $84.0 million, rising 15.7 percent from $72.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Quarterly revenue was $1.3 billion, compared with $1.2 billion in the same quarter the previous year. Intermodal revenue in the fourth quarter was $821.2 million, dedicated revenue was $283.7 million, integrated capacity solutions revenue was $128.5 million and truck revenue was $112.7 million.

For the full year of 2012, income was $310.4 million, jumping 20.8 percent from $257.0 million in 2011. Yearly revenue was $5.1 billion, up from $4.5 billion in 2011.
