DB Schenker's recent acquisition of Suomen Kiitoautot, a Finnish trucking company, consolidates the German company’s market dominance in the Nordic nation’s logistics sector.
Schenker didn’t say how much its Finnish unit Schenker Cargo Oy paid for the family-owned trucker, which generated about $66 million revenue in 2010 and employs 441 people.
Following the deal, Schenker and Kiitoautot together will account for around two-thirds of Kiitolinja Chain, Finland’s biggest land transport network. DB Schenker generated revenues of $625 million in Finland in 2010.
