Orders for Class 8 Trucks Slowed in November

North America heavy-duty gross vehicle weight Classes 5-7 preliminary net orders in November returned to prevailing trend levels, while Class 8 orders fell from October’s “best since January” volume, according to ACT Research.

Preliminary orders, which are typically accurate within 5 percent of final results, are predicted to approach 13,900 units for medium-duty Classes 5-7 vehicles and trucks; and 20,200 for heavy-duty Class 8.

FTR Associates also released data showing Class 8 truck orders in November slowed at 19,683 units, a 14 percent decrease from October and a 3 percent decrease year-over-year.

However, November was still the second-highest month for orders since March, FTR Associates noted.
