YRC Worldwide subsidiary Reddaway is speeding shipments in the West, launching a next-day service linking Las Vegas with cities in Northern California.
The regional less-than-truckload carrier said Tuesday it will offer overnight service from Las Vegas to Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose and Stockton, Calif. Leaner inventories and fast-paced replenishment programs are increasing demand for next-day services, and LTL carriers such as Reddaway are running faster.
Clackamas, Ore.-based Reddaway has been extending its next-day service throughout the West, recently linking Las Vegas with Bakersfield and Fresno, Calif. The company is part of YRC Worldwide’s regional carrier group, which includes Holland in the Midwest and Central states and New Penn in the Northeast.
As a group, the three regional LTL operators reported a $12.4 million operating profit on $404.8 million in revenue in the third quarter of 2011.
