The Teamsters union reached a tentative three-year agreement with wholesale retail giant Costco that includes wage increases for almost 15,000 workers.
The agreement calls for wage increases in each year of the contract, as well as strengthened grievance procedures and seniority language, the union said.
The Teamsters union represents warehouse workers at 55 Costco wholesale locations in California, Maryland and Virginia, New York and New Jersey.
The $97 billion company has 448 U.S. warehouses and employs more than 115,000 workers in the U.S., according to recent financial reports and statements.
Costco’s net sales rose 12 percent in December to $11.2 billion. Sales in the company’s last fiscal quarter, which ended Nov. 25, rose 10 percent to $23.2 billion.
The current Costco-Teamsters contract expires Jan. 31. Ballots on the tentative agreement will be counted Feb. 19, the union said.
