One of Saval Foodservice's new CNG-fueled trucks.Saval Foodservice, a Baltimore-Washington, D.C., area food distributor, recently received two new compressed natural gas-fueled trucks from Ultimate CNG, a natural gas truck fleet leasing company, to add to its fleet.
The trucks are Freightliner M2s with Cummins Westport engines. CNG vehicles produce 20 to 23 percent less greenhouse gas emissions and have lower carbon output than equivalent diesel engines, Saval said in a written statement. At idle, 10 CNG trucks equal the noise of one diesel truck, the company added.
