Truckload carrier Celadon Trucking Services acquired some of the assets of Robinson Transport, a 200-truck motor carrier based in Columbus, Ohio.
The acquisition will expand Celadon’s driver pool and increase freight density in Midwestern traffic lanes, the Indianapolis-based company said in a statement.
The purchase of Robinson assets is the latest in a string of acquisitions by Celadon aimed at acquiring qualified truck drivers as well as new customers.
Since last October, Celadon has acquired the assets, though not operations, of Glen Moore, American Eagle, Teton Transportation, Hiner Transport and USA Dry Van.
Rick Robinson, president of Robinson Transport, will join Celadon Trucking as vice president of Midwest operations.
