Ft. Benning, Ga.American Trucking Associations and the America’s Road Team Captains are in Ft. Benning today for the Military Transportation Job Fair presented by Hiring Our Heroes and Fastport. America’s Road Team Captains are elite professional truck drivers with millions of accident-free miles and represent the 3.4 million professional truck drivers across the nation who are committed to safety and efficiency while delivering America’s goods.

“Getting the chance to speak to members of the military about the many benefits of a career as a professional truck driver is one of the highlights of my job” said Captain Byron Bramwell (YRC Freight). “Delivering goods in a safe and timely manner is a fulfilling career and can be especially rewarding for people affiliated with the military who demonstrate a commitment to doing the right thing each day.”

The trucking industry provides jobs for more than 200,000 people in the Peach State, or more than 1 out of every 15 jobs. In the state of Georgia, 76% of communities rely exclusively on trucks to deliver their goods.

“There is not a better time for skilled workers to enter the trucking industry, as the industry is experiencing a shortage in technicians and is also looking to add 40,000 more drivers in the next year” said Captain Steve Fields. “I am thrilled at the opportunity to share my career experiences with members of the military and explain why it’s a great time to be a professional truck driver.”

America’s Road Team Captains are exhibiting the Interstate One Image Truck as part of their appearance at the Military Transportation Job Fair. Interstate One travels the United States visiting State Capitols, high schools, community events and more. The 53-foot show trailer, fully wrapped in an American flag themed graphic is a classroom on wheels with seven screens, educational displays, and a computer program that acts as a truck driving simulator.

The America's Road Team, sponsored by Volvo Trucks, is a national public outreach program led by a small group of professional truck drivers who share superior driving skills, remarkable safety records and a strong desire to spread the word about safety on the highway.www.americasroadteam.com.
