Damco Taps Thygesen as North Asia CEO

16-year A.P. Moller-Maersk Group veteran succeeds Schiottz-Christensen

Damco has appointed Henriette Hallberg Thygesen, a 16-year veteran of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, as its new CEO for North Asia.

Thygensen, who was the global chief process officer at the forwarding and logistics arm of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, succeeds Steffen Schiottz-Christensen. He will remain in the North Asia region as vice president and head of airfreight services for the recently acquired New Times International Transport Service Co.

Thygensen, who will be based in Hong Kong, has held positions as Shanghai branch manager and operations manager for the Greater China area for Maersk Logistics, Damco’s predecessor company.
