At the end of last week, the International Longshoremen’s Association and United States Maritime Alliance tentatively agreed on a six-year master contract, averting a threatened Maine-to-Texas strike following the current contract’s expiration at midnight Feb. 6.
ILA Labor Negotiations
The JOC has covered every step in negotiation of a new International Longshoremen’s Association for East and Gulf coast ports since bargaining began early last year. With a March 13 agreement in place, the deal is awaiting ratification by ILA members on April 9.
