The Algerian government has extended its tax break on all feed imports, including corn, distiller’s dried grains with solubles, and corn gluten feed, until August 2013, according to the U.S. Grains Council.
Algeria removed the value-added tax and duty on all feed imports in September 2012, initially until until December 2012. The VAT and duty for DDGS and CGF had previously been set at 17 percent and 30 percent respectively, resulting in no U.S. DDGS or CGF exports to Algeria. Corn VAT and duty had previously been set at 7 percent and 5 percent.
