Indian Railways and RENFE-Operadora and ADIF, the Spanish railways infrastructure manager, recently signed a memorandum of understanding to promote technical cooperation and information exchange in the railways sector, according to the Indian Ministry of Railways.
The agreement was signed in India by C.P. Joshi, India's minister of road transport and highways and minister of railways, and Ana Pastor Julian, Spain's minister of publis works and transport.
The countries agreed to share knowledge about high-speed rail; passenger train speed; train operation safety; rolling stock modernization; and construction and maintenance technologies for fixed infrastructure, such as track, bridges, tunnels, power supply systems, signaling and telecommunications.
