RailLog Korea, one of the leading international trade fairs for railways and logistics industries, is getting ready for its upcoming fair which will take place from 12 to 15 June 2013 at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO), Busan, South Korea. The show will play host to 158 exhibitors from 20 countries and more than 20,000 trade visitors who are expected to attend, looking for sourcing and business opportunities in the domestic and international markets.

This year’s show is expected to be the largest ever, with 17,000 sqm of exhibition space, an increase of 20% from 14,000 sqm in 2011. Notable domestic and international players at this year’s fair will include Hyundai Rotem, Woojin Industrial System, KORAIL, Seoul Metro, etc. from Korea as well as Ansaldo STS, MERMEC and Rollon from Italy, Thales from Canada, Hitachi from Japan and Vossloh, Deuta-Werke and Schlemmer from Germany. In particular, Hyundai Rotem will launch its HEMU-430X high speed train and new Hybrid low floor tram, while Woojin Industrial System will showcase next-generation SMART monorail at the fair ground this year.

One of the most significant highlights at RailLog Korea 2013 is that France has been declared as a “Partner Country” for this year, through trustful and strategic cooperation between Messe Frankfurt Korea and UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development. UBIFRANCE will organise a national pavilion for the first time, with three French companies participating. Also, a “French-Korean seminar on public transport infrastructure development and financing“ will be conducted during the fair, developed by the French Embassy in Korea, together with UBIFRANCE, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and the Public Private Investment Management Center (PIMAC) affiliated to KDI (Korea Development Institute). The purpose of the seminar is to discuss public transport infrastructure development policies in bringing experts to share their views on regulation, financing and monitoring of transport projects. In addition, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce will take this opportunity to host a business lunch before the seminar, among their members and participants of RailLog Korea 2013 on prior registration.

Furthermore, several other seminars and forums covering a wide range of topics are slated to be presented, such as UN ESCAP International Conference, Railway Procurement Plaza 2013 by KOTRA, Cooperation Seminar of Korea Urban Railway, Conference on “High Speed Lines in Korea” by companies such as Ansaldo STS, together with various fringe events such as industrial tour programmes for buyers and VIP visitors.
