US Intermodal Rates Pulled Down by Eastbound and Westbound Lanes

An index of U.S. intermodal rates inched down for a second consecutive week in the week ending Oct. 28, pulled down by declines in eastbound and westbound U.S. lanes. The overall index rate slipped 0.1 percent or $2.22, according to data on all-inclusive 53-foot door-to-door spot pricing quoted by railroads and provided by the 3PL IDS, to $2,136.
