US Intermodal Average Rate Inches Up Despite Drops in Top Lanes

An index of U.S. intermodal rates saw a slight increase in the week ending Nov. 4 after two consecutive weeks of decline. The overall index rate of the top 36 U.S. lanes inched up 0.4 percent, or $9.03, to $2,145, according to data on all-inclusive 53-foot door-to-door spot pricing quoted by railroads and provided by the 3PL IDS.
