Two Con-way Inc. subsidiaries are launching a new intermodal service focused on U.S.-Mexico trade.
"With changing global trade patterns and the rise in near-sourcing, Mexico is increasingly a location of choice for manufacturing and distribution," said Saul Gonzalez, president of Con-way Truckload, in a written statement. The Con-way unit already operates in Mexico through its CFI Logistica subsidiary; it has 10 offices and an extensive drayage network in the country.
Con-way Multimodal is the other partner in the offering, which the company says will work with all major Class I railroads and provide nationwide intermodal service.
