CSX Temporarily Modifies East Coast Services After Sandy

Class I railroad CSX Transportation, the main subsidiary of CSX Corporation, is offering temporary recovery service from mid-Atlantic ports to Northeast ports to keep freight moving along the eastern seaboard after Hurricane Sandy caused a significant backlog of freight.

The modified services and pricing are available until Nov. 15.

CSXT is offering all New York and New Jersey port services from mid-Atlantic ports, and all mid-Atlantic port services from New York and New Jersey ports.

The company said it will honor all New York and New Jersey rates at mid-Atlantic ports and all mid-Atlantic port rates in New York and New Jersey.
