CEVA Logistics today announced that Marvin O. Schlanger will retire as CEO on Jan. 2, 2014, and will be succeeded by Xavier Urbain.
Urbain also has been elected as a member of CEVA’s board of directors, effective Jan. 2, and will be located at the supply chain management company’s headquarters in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. Schlanger will resume his position as non-executive chairman of the board, a role he first undertook in 2009.
Urbain has served on the management board and board of directors and in several senior executive positions at Kuehne + Nagel, and as CEO of ACR Logistics.
Marv Schlanger, CEVA’s CEO, said in a written statement: “When I assumed the leadership position at CEVA, I had a number of immediate priorities to position the company for success in the future. I am pleased with our progress and the accomplishments of the management and employees of CEVA, and I am excited that we have been able to recruit an executive with the background and stature of Xavier Urbain.”
CEVA is in the process of expanding its operation in Asia. The company recently opened its first Center of Logistics Excellence in Singapore, as well as a new aerospace storage area, and appointed Peter Dew as its new Asia-Pacific president.
