Block Real Estate Services has started construction on its newest industrial park, Lenexa Logistics Centre, in Lenexa, Kan.
LLC will be developed as a Class A logistics park and will include 1.6 million square feet within 10 industrial buildings. It will serve the light warehousing and mid-bulk or bulk distribution market in the Kansas City, Mo., metropolitan area.
Mike Boehm, mayor of Lenexa, welcomed city officials and the development team at a recent groundbreaking ceremony. He also introduced Kenneth G. Block, managing principal of BRES and a partner in the investment group developing the 117.5 acre park.
The first building to be constructed is Building 4, which will be a 260,000 square foot structure with 32-foot clear heights and cross-dock loading. It is scheduled for completion in June 2014.
