Third-party logistics provider OIA Global has acquired U.S. Worldwide Logistics, a Kentucky-based provider of domestic and international freight forwarding and of warehousing and distribution services. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“This acquisition is an important step in our overall growth strategy and confirms our commitment to continue building our U.S. client base, particularly in the Cincinnati–northern Kentucky metropolitan area,” said Charlie Hornecker, CEO of OIA Global, in a written statement. He added that OIA Global will continue to look for acquisitions that can help it expand its global network.
Owner and CEO Pam Stapleton built U.S. Worldwide Logistics in 1991 as a full-service global logistics provider. Her husband Steve joined the company in 1996.
“Both Pam and Steve Stapleton have built a growing and profitable company by delivering full-service, worldwide transportation and logistics services for a variety of clients. We welcome them to the OIA team and look forward to working together to achieve even more success," Hornecker said.
Founded in 1988, OIA Global is headquartered in Portland, Ore., where it is planning a move to larger quarters. It is a part of LDI Ltd., a closely held, value-added holding company based in Indianapolis. OIA Global has more than 700 employees and operates in more than 75 countries worldwide.
