Liebherr Container Cranes has received an order from APM Terminals Gothenburg in Sweden for two ship-to-shore cranes and two rail-mounted gantry cranes.
The STS cranes have an outreach of 65 meters (about 213 feet), allowing them to work on container vessels with up to 24 containers wide across the deck, a back reach of 25 meters and a rail span of 30.48 meters. The cranes will have a safe working load of 65 tons under twin-lift spreader. Additionally, the rail-mounted gantry cranes will stack 1-over-5 high, have a span of 30.6 meters and feature a wide leg and narrow leg outreach of 14.5 meters.
Liebherr said it has also separately secured an order from ECT Delta Terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for the delivery of seven Liebherr SC340S straddle carriers. These machines will stack 1-over-2 high and are supplied with a 40 ton Stinis single lift spreader. The straddle carriers will mainly operate in the landside interface zone, shuttling between the automatic stacking cranes and trucks, but will also handle multi-trailers for intra-terminal transfer for onward transport by train or barge.
