Samuel Israel has been appointed regional CEO for Damco’s Latin America region.
“Latin America offers great potential for our supply chain management expertise,” Damco CEO Rolf Habben-Jansen said in a written statement. “We have ambitious plans on developing Damco throughout the region, notably in Brazil and Mexico as well as in the Andean region. Samuel’s considerable experience and local knowledge will enable us to capitalize on the significant opportunities in Latin America.”
Israel has more than 30 years of experience in the logistics industry in Latin America, including serving as country manager for Mexico at Danzas and for 12 years as CEO for DHL Global Forwarding Latin America. Israel, a French national, held various commercial and operational roles in France, including as operations manager for Danzas and ocean freight director for Panalpina before going to Latin America in 1999.
