Notably, July had two additional shipping days versus June.
Load volumes in July were also at the mid-point of the last seven months. Cross-border loads destined for provinces within Canada were down 9 percent year-over-year and accounted for 70 percent of overall volume. Conversely, cross-border loads originating in Canada destined to the U.S. saw an increase of 17 percent compared with the same month last year. Additionally, intra-Canada postings contributed to 24 percent of the total volume for July and increased 3 percent.
The equipment postings for July were at the highest level in the last decade. Month-over-month levels spiked 10 percent and were 14 percent higher compared with the same month in the previous year.
