IAG Cargo has made its small freight collection service, Cargo Connector, available to freight forwarders in the catchment areas of Georgia’s Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson and Texas’s Dallas Fort Worth international airports.
For consignments of less than 200 kilograms (about 441 pounds), freight forwarders in those cities can now opt to have IAG Cargo collect and courier cargo directly from their premises to the airport, at no additional cost, with freight screening arranged as required.
The service benefits freight forwarders by allowing them to book cargo at short notice and removing the need for them to pay their own driver and truck, according to the company, created from the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo.
“The Cargo Connector service is proving to be a huge success in the North American market and beyond,” said Joe LeBeau, regional commercial manager of North America at IAG Cargo, in a written statement. “We continue to examine other markets where Cargo Connector would be applicable and foresee continued success through this service.”
