The expanded facility in Virginia has added 12 doors, making it a 40-door facility, and implemented numerous technology upgrades, said Michael McCormick, manager for the Manassas Service Center for ODFL, in a written statement. It serves as a gateway to Washington, D.C., and allows the company to accommodate increased customer demand throughout Northern Virginia. It is located near Interstate 95 and I-66.
The new service center in the Black Hills region of South Dakota has seven doors and is located along I-90.
“This service center is unique in the fact that it offers direct service from the South Hills to the North Hills daily,” said Jon Olson, manager of the Rapid City Service Center.
The facility provides direct service to Rapid City, Black Hills, Spearfish, Sturgis, Belle Fourche, Hermosa, Hot Springs and Custer in South Dakota, as well as Devils Tower, Sundance and Newcastle in Wyoming.
ODFL, No. 5 on JOC’s list of the Top 25 Less-Than-Truckload Carriers, also recently doubled the size of its Amarillo Service Center in Texas. The company’s profit jumped nearly 22 percent year-over-year in the second quarter of 2013.
