Contrans reported second quarter 2013 net income of C$8.0 million (about US$7.7 million), sliding 1.2 percent from C$8.1 million in the second quarter of 2012.
Conversely, quarterly revenue was C$119.2 million, compared with C$115.0 million in the same quarter last year.
In the first six months of 2013, the Canadian freight transportation provider recorded a profit of C$12.8 million, down 4.5 percent from C$13.4 million in the first half of 2012. However, from January to June, revenue rose from C$217.4 million in 2012 to C$232.4 million in 2013.
“Contrans’ 2013 financial results are keeping pace with the company’s record-setting 2012 financial performance,” said Stan Dunford, chairman and CEO of Contrans, in a written statement.
