Forward Air Solutions is preparing to occupy an 89,600-square-foot distribution facility at Port San Antonio’s industrial airport, Kelly Field, later this year.
The facility at the Texas airport, which can be accessed by truck and cargo aircraft, allows Forward Air Solutions, the Tennessee-based logistics subsidiary of Forward Air Corp., to store and consolidate consumer products to distribute as needed to its customers, including several retailers in the region.
“We are pleased to provide Forward Air Solutions with a great facility and a comprehensive platform to grow its business,” said Bruce E. Miller, president and CEO of Port San Antonio, in a written statement. “As our region continues to prosper, the port’s direct road, air and rail connections, along with our expertise in providing specialized buildings, are growing opportunities for logistics-based industries.”
“South Texas is a fast-growing market, and the strategic facility and comprehensive support provided by Port San Antonio will allow us to broaden our reach in one of the most dynamic communities in the country,” added Roger Gellis, senior vice president and general manager of Forward Air Solutions. “We expect our new location at Port San Antonio will allow us to increase the level of service to our customers and provide us the flexibility to quickly adapt to our customers’ changing needs.”
