London Heathrow Airport shut down two main runways briefly on Friday after fire broke out aboard a parked Ethiopian Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplane. The runways reopened around 6 p.m. local time, but delays are expected.
No passengers were aboard the plane at the time of the fire, the airport said. Initial reports indicated the fire originated in one of the plane's engines. General Electric, manufacturer of the Dreamliners' GEnx engines, later said they had nothing to do with the fire.
Boeing personnel are on the scene and investigating the incident.
Ethiopian Air operates four Dreamliners, according to the company's Web site.
