Hamburg Süd has added a direct call at Salerno, Italy, to its route from the U.S. Gulf Coast and South Florida to the western Mediterranean.
The updated port rotation was scheduled to take effect from the Madrid Express, voyage 322E.
Separately, the container line reported that the Cap Domingo, voyage 99S, has encountered delays because of port congestion in Brazil. As a result, the vessel will be forced to omit the southbound call at Santos and Imbituba, Brazil, in order to maintain the pro forma schedule. Exports to Santos will be discharged on the Santos northbound call, and exports to Imbituba will be discharged in Santos for final delivery to Imbituba via the Cap Gregory, voyage 61S.
Ongoing protests in certain regions in Brazil, which began as early as June 15, have led to disruptions in transportation, including closures of roads and highways.
