TCV Stevedoring Co., a Grup TCB subsidiary that moves goods at the Levante and Llovera docks in the Port of Valencia in Spain, has received its fourth super-post-Panamax crane for operating large vessels of up to 22 containers wide.
The crane, developed by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery, weighs 1,600 metric tons and is capable of lifting 65 metric tons. It is also 44 meters (about 144.4 feet) high under the spreader and moves at 590.6 feet per minute hoisting empty containers and 295.3 feet per minute moving fully loaded containers. The new crane has a reach of 205.1 feet on the sea side and 65.6 feet on the land side, while the distance between rails ascends to 100.0 feet.
In addition to the super-post-Panamax cranes, TCV’s equipment includes four post-Panamax cranes, two Panamax cranes, 22 rubber-tire-gantry cranes and seven reach stackers, among others. Four new rubber-tire gantry cranes will also be added in the coming months.
