DEMDACO has entered into a long-term lease for a 326,650 square foot distribution center that will be custom built for the gift and home décor products company at Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City, Mo., according to NorthPoint Development and NAI Capital Realty.
LPKC is a 1,100 acre distribution and warehouse development that will be adjacent to BNSF Railway’s newest intermodal facility, which will open in the fourth quarter of 2013.
“We are thrilled to be one of the first tenants to relocate to Logistics Park Kansas City adjacent to the BNSF intermodal facility,” said Steve Fowler, DEMDACO’s chief operating officer, in a written statement. “This move will improve our operating efficiencies by being in a new, state-of-the-art facility and by being very close to the intermodal site through which most of our product is delivered.”
The company manages all aspects of bringing its products to market, including distribution, which has been handled from northern Kansas City for the last 12 years.
