CMA CGM has announced plans to consolidate operations in India by combining agency functions of its wholly-owned subsidiary ANL into CMA Agencies (India) Pvt. Ltd.
The French carrier in a trade notice said “CMA CGM India stands as the sole agent for ANL pan India, effective July 1, replacing existing third-party agent Seahorse Ship Agencies.”
CMA CGM India is also taking over agency operations for Delmas in India.
CMA CGM India currently has more than 20 office locations in India. The carrier’s major weekly services to and from India include the Indamex, connecting the U.S. East Coast and the eastern Mediterranean, and the Epic, linking the Middle East, North Europe and the Mediterranean.
In other trade news, state-owned Central Warehousing Corporation has opened a new container freight station at the Port of Pipavav. The 22,706-square-meter (244,405-square-foot) facility has a container yard surface of 10,000 square meters (107,639 square feet) with a covered space of 6,600 square meters (71,042 square feet).
