Hong Kong’s Census and Statistics Department said that the volume of Hong Kong's re-exports of goods increased 8.9 percent year-over-year in April, while domestic exports decreased 7.1 percent.
Taken together, the volume of total exports of goods rose 8.6 percent over the level seen in April 2012. Concurrently, the volume of imports of goods increased 7.9 percent.
Comparing the first four months of 2013 with the same period in 2012, the volume of Hong Kong's re-exports of goods increased 5.4 percent, and domestic exports fell 5.2 percent. Taken together, total exports of goods climbed 5.2 percent. Imports of goods increased 5.7 percent year-over-year in the same period.
