Old Dominion Freight Line will increase its base rates for intrastate, interstate and cross-border lane charges, effective July 1.
The exact increase may differ for non-contract customers based on a number of variables, including the lanes used and the distance shipments move, the less-than-truckload carrier said in a written statement. However, ODFL said the average general rate hike will be about 4.9 percent.
The move will double the company’s capacity in the region, which encompasses Indiana, Ohio and Michigan and caters to the magnet wire, retail, industrial, defense and automotive industries. The newly constructed service center has 71 doors and is located along Interstate 69.
“The improved facility allows OD to maintain its strong rate of growth in Fort Wayne,” said Randy Barton, manager of the new Fort Wayne Service Center, in a written statement.
