Maher Terminals has announced that it is continuing to work on the system-related issues that are affecting truck processing at the Port of New York and New Jersey.
Over the last few days, the terminal has intermittently closed its gates after experiencing computer glitches during its changeover to a new operating system, resulting in long truck lines. Most of the system issues have been related to export receiving.
Maher, which opened at 6 a.m. today, said it plans to maintain its normal gate hours and will continue to monitor the situation’s progress. Maher will extend free time and waive demurrage through Sunday, June 16, and will honor all truck detention claims submitted per its terminal tariff. It is also considering plans to deliver import cargo and receive empties on double moves on Saturday, June 15, and extend empty container receiving hours next week.
