Mitsui O.S.K. Lines will increase rates for all cargo in its westbound trade from the Far East, including Southeast Asia and Japan, to Europe, starting July 1:
- From the Far East to the Mediterranean, the hike will be $500 per 20-foot-equivalent unit.
- From the Far East to North Europe, including the U.K. and Ireland and Scandinavia and the Baltic, the increase will be $1,000 per TEU.
Mediterranean Shipping Co., Hapag-Lloyd, OOCL, Maersk Line, HMM and United Arab Shipping Co. have also planned Asia-to-North Europe rate hikes for July 1, despite recent declining rates in the trade lane.
