Mediterranean Shipping Co. has scheduled a July 1 rate increase on all dry cargo in its trade from North Europe, including the U.K., to the Far East, including Japan.
The hike will be $200 per 20-foot container and $250 per 40-foot container.
Furthermore, the container line will boost rates for all cargo in its trade from Asia to the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black Sea and North Africa, starting July 1. The increase will be $500 per 20-foot-equivalent unit and €400 (about $529) per TEU to Syria.
Additionally, the carrier will implement a bunker contribution for all cargo between North Europe and the Mediterranean, and South America’s west coast, Central America and Venezuela ports for July.
