The Port of Mundra received a call June 4 from the MSC Valeria, the largest container ship ever to call on an Indian port.
The vessel, which has a nominal capacity of 14,036 20-foot-equivalent units, is currently deployed on Mediterranean Shipping Co.’s Dragon Service between the Far East and the Mediterranean.
The Panama-flag ship docked at the Adani Container Terminal-3, which is jointly owned by MSC and port developer Adani Group. ACT-3 began operations last year.
Mundra, a deep-water port with three container facilities, is India’s biggest non-government cargo hub.
