Liebherr Container Cranes has received an order from Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos in Paita, Peru, for the delivery of one super-post-Panamax ship-to-shore crane and two rubber-tire gantry cranes. They are scheduled for delivery by the end of this year.
The STS crane has a working load of 55 metric tons under a twin lift spreader, with an outreach of 51 meters (about 167 feet), a back reach of 56 feet and a span of 100 feet. The lifting height above the rail is 118 feet. The RTGs have four wheels per corner, are capable of stacking 1-over-5 high and span seven containers and a truck lane.
Separately, Liebherr announced that, as part of its ongoing development of its facilities in Ireland, it has begun building work on a 16,400 square meter (about 176,528 square foot) new production hall at its Killarney plant, representing an investment of €50 million (approximately $65.5 million). It is expected to be operational later this year.
